Traces of Bodies of Water

photographs and photograms

As water and bodies are mutable and interrelated, Traces of Bodies of Water is a series of photographs serving as a collaboration between water and photographer.
While giving a sculptural body to water to let it draw itself through photograms, photograms become an observation of the transformation as the material dehydrates and reshapes itself. A method of returning an agency to materiality and giving it its own authorship, as it draws itself through analog processes.

Alongside the process of transformation, still life photography serves as a method of investigating the gaze and how photography functions as a medium of projecting aesthetics onto natural processes. Traces of Bodies of Water brings together digital and analog photography to enter a dialogue and question who is looking, when aesthetics are political.
